PADI Discover Scuba Diving Course
Dive into adventure with our PADI Discover Scuba Diving course—the perfect introduction to the underwater world. No experience or certification is required! This beginner-friendly program lets you explore the ocean safely under the guidance of a professional instructor. You’ll learn essential scuba skills, get familiar with your equipment, and practice techniques before your first dive.
After your instruction, gear up and explore the vibrant marine life of our house reef. For those seeking more adventure, a second dive from our boat lets you experience the excitement of a boat dive. One dive takes about 2 hours, while the two-dive option lasts approximately 4½ hours.

Highlights of the PADI Discover Scuba Diving course
- Curious about the underwater world?: The PADI Discover Scuba Diving course in Cozumel offers a taste of the experience. You’ll learn basic skills and take your first breaths underwater under the guidance of a PADI professional.
- Designed for the non-certified diver. You will be fitted with full scuba gear after receiving 25 minutes of instruction and orientation from a PADI instructor. Then you will enter the water from the shore. There’s also a 2-dive option where you can take your second dive off one of our boats at a nearby reef.
- Your safety is our priority!: You will spend a few minutes in waist-deep water for you to get used to breathing underwater. When you feel comfortable, you and your instructor will head out to dive. Your instructor will guide you in the exploration of this new and amazing world of fish and coral. Our house reef reaches a maximum depth of 25 feet. If you opt for the additional boat dive, that reef can be 45-50 feet deep. However, the maximum depth for a Discover Scuba Dive is 20 feet (6 meters).

- 1 Dive from shore: $90
- 2 Dives (shore and boat): $180
Please note:
Some health restrictions do apply. You must create a PADI account and fill out the online Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire before coming.
- Sand Dollar Sports reserves the right to make any final decision regarding your ability to dive.
- All sunscreens are prohibited at our location. Wearing a rash guard is strongly recommended. You can purchase one from our boutique for $45. It’s a great souvenir to take home!
- Price does not include “Cozumel Marine Park” fee if any of your dives are in the marine park. All national park fees were increased to $13 per person on January 1, 2026.

Yes. Your dive is led by a certified scuba instructor who stays with you the entire time. Safety is our top priority.
