Cozumel is a tropical island that has great weather year round. There is a breezy, warm season, rainy season, and hot season. Cozumel offers year-round tropical warmth, making it a diver’s paradise no matter the season. For most water enthusiasts the water is warm enough to swim with only a bathing suit or rash guard. The For others, they may want to wear at least a shorty wetsuit or 3mm.

 

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect throughout the year:

Water Temperatures

The water temperature in Cozumel stays warm and inviting, ranging from 26°C (79°F) in winter to a balmy 30°C (86°F) in summer. The consistently warm waters make diving, snorkeling, and other aquatic activities enjoyable year-round.

Weather Temperatures

The island’s air temperature varies slightly more but remains pleasant, fluctuating between 24°C (75°F) in January and February to 29°C (84°F) in the summer months.

Rainy Season

Cozumel experiences a rainy season from May to October, with September and October being the wettest months. However, showers are often brief and followed by sunny skies, so they rarely disrupt plans for outdoor activities or diving. However, there are port closures at times and the authorities do not allow any water activities. This is usually when the winds are high and there are a lot of swells. It’s better to come prepared for this. If this happens, Sand Dollar Sports will give you a refund.
