Sand Dollar Sports has been a sustainable dive center for over 40 years. We are accredited by Travelife and a digital member of Green Fins. We use solar power for our tank compressor, we separate waste and recycle, and we don’t use single-use plastics. All our cleaning products are bio-friendly. Learn more about our sustainability efforts here.

Sand Dollar Sports works in partnership with Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration Program (CCRRP), a local NGO. We have a coral lab onsite. Our house reef is filled with Reef Balls and coral reef restoration platforms. A portion of our proceeds from our guests is donated to CCRRP. When you dive with us you help us in our marine conservation efforts. We invite all guests to take our Reef Restoration Tour and learn more!

We have a 6 to 1 diver to divemaster ratio while other dive centers usually use an 8 to 1 ratio. This is so we can ensure diver safety.

The water clarity is superior and can range from 80 – 150 feet! Cozumel is known as the drift diving capital of the world, so some dive sites are only for advanced divers as the currents can be quite strong. Cozumel is part of the Mesoamerican Reef in the Caribbean. The Mesoamerican Reef (MAR), extending 625 miles along the shores of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras, is the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere.

We prioritize safety by conducting thorough equipment checks, providing briefings before dives, and ensuring our guides are certified and experienced.
